After I’m Gone by Laura Lippman

After I'm Gone

I love reading books with local flavor. Laura Lippman uses Baltimore as the backdrop for her book about a husband that goes missing a week before he was to be indicted for racketeering, money laundering and the like. The story goes back in time and follows his family, including his three daughters, and then jumps back to today to tell the story. A cold case involving the death of the girlfriend of the racketeer and the hunt to find the killer. Lippman ties it all together at the end and you feel everyone got what was coming to them.
