I enjoy finding a new author, especially when they have written a series of books (though the local libraries do not have all of the titles in the series) and this is certainly a different main character! Sister Joan is a mid-30s nun in the United Kingdom, on a solitary retreat in this book. Apparently she has helped solve other murder mysteries, much to Mother Superior’s dismay. Set in Scotland, this is a lovely location for an older murder that Sister Joan stumbles into. Likable with a decidedly un-nunly snark to her comments, Sister Joan makes for a pleasant escape (but don’t expect to solve the mystery yourself).
